My candle making process
Each candle is different! If you want a tutorial on how to make each candle, check out being a Joy member to watch videos on the candle making process, and progress! If you’re okay with just a click, peak, skim, you’ve come to the right place! Let’s say we are making the simple Sylvian Bear and Artic Strong candle since they are created in the same way.
First the wax, I use 444 soy wax. The 444 soy wax is easier to work with in warmer temperatures, and since the building doesn’t have AC. It gets pretty warm up in here. After grabbing ***g of wax, putting it in the temp. measuring cup. I add it to the microwave and start with two minutes, I add a minute more or less if it’s not all the way melted. I add it to the microwave for one individual ones since it does the trick just fine as the wax warmer would plus, it’s quicker to make and easier to add just the right amount of wax so each candle has the perfect amount of wax to go with the fragrance(FO).
After the mischief microwave I then add in ***tbsp and ***tsp of FO for the base. Along with * green wax dye block(s) being used. Each FO is different for each candle, I’d check out the essential/fragrance oil names too see the ingredients and name for each FO being used. Stir for 2 minutes to blend together the wax and oil and wait for the melted wax to cool to 135f before pouring into the Jar.
While you wait for the temperature to cool down to 135f, place down a scented brown bear emblem. Using a spoon to hold up to the glass jar, use the heat gun to melt the back legs first, let it start to melt, and move move the bear or gun until it starts to melt, move the heat gun to the head until you see same thing, then finish it off with going over to the top of the back to start melting the sides without melting too much of the bear. It’ll only take a few minutes for it to stick.
With the bear emblem facing you, pour the green melted wax starting at the bears feets to cover the majority of the whole. Stop immediately if you see the brown bear starting to evaporate into the green wax more then you’d like (it’s happened to me a couple of times). Proceed to put in the wood wick and stand.
After all and all is done. and cooled down. Poke through the brown scented stump emblem and place on top of the wick, clean the top and trim the wick, then voila <3.
Make sure not to pour at ***f or else the bear will be decapitated! I hope you had a pleasant, click, peak, skim!
